Dr Andrew Hough, Director
Andrew’s doctoral studies were on estuarine ecology, he has since accumulated more than 15 years experience as a consultant working particularly on EIAs for coastal developments throughout the UK, Middle East and North Africa. Andrew is now based near Newport, Wales and runs our Welsh office.

Dr Ian Gloyne-Phillips, Director
Based at Birkenhead, Ian oversees our coastal-related projects and all non-marine activities.  He is a consultant and environmental scientist with international experience and has managed a number of major multi-disciplinary projects for key clients.  His main areas of personal expertise are survey design, environmental monitoring and EIA.

Dr Terry Holt, Director
Terry looks after our Isle of Man facility.  He has more than 25 years marine biological experience and previously managed a commercial mariculture operation.  His consultancy expertise covers EIA, monitoring, conservation strategy and sustainable fisheries assessments worldwide. He is an authority on algology (seaweeds).

Seran Davies, Consultant
A qualified marine biologist, Seran is a founding member of CMACS and works at our head office where she specialises in EIA and marine survey design.  She has a Masters degree in tropical coastal management and experience working throughout the Indo-pacific and Caribbean regions.

Dr Laura Grange, Scientific Officer
Laura joined CMACS in 2005, after completing a three year doctorate on Antarctic marine invertebrates.  She has a background in both marine and oceanographic science and is experienced in marine monitoring surveys, laboratory analyses and preparatory work for EIAs.

Dr Ken Neal, Scientific Officer
Ken Joined CMACS in 2004, after studying reproductive biology in polychaetes for his PhD and having gained experience with MarLIN and another consultancy company.  His main responsibilities at CMACS have been intertidal surveys, including biotope mapping, sea bird counts and river habitat surveys.  In addition he has conducted offshore benthic and fish surveys and interpreted seabed video data.

Dr Salma Shalla, CMACS Associate
With over 20 years experience, Salma is responsible for CMACS’ benthic taxonomy including participation in the NMBAQC.  She has identified all fauna in several thousand Day, Van Veen and other grab samples with core experience of NE Atlantic samples, and considerable experience of Red Sea, Suez Canal, and Persian Gulf fauna, and deep Atlantic cumaceans
